STUDENT OPPORTUNITIES
24th ANNUAL MULTIPLE PIANO FESTIVAL
November 21st, 2009 at 7:00pm
Vance Brand Auditorium, Skyline High School, Longmont
The Multiple Piano Festival provides an exciting opportunity for piano students to participate in a large
ensemble event, playing on a stage filled with twelve grand pianos! Students audition on the repertoire with
a partner in early November, then each group has three Friday/Saturday rehearsals with a conductor in the week
before the concert. This event is a Boulder County favorite, with 250 students participating each year, performing,
announcing the pieces, and even providing artwork for the program! Proceeds from the concert benefit the BAMTA
scholarship fund, helping deserving students pay for music lessons.

ACHIEVEMENT DAY
Saturday May 8, 2010, 9:00am to 4:30pm
Imig Music Building, CU, Boulder
The purpose of this event is to recognize and encourage achievement in students
music study. Students participate at preparatory through 12th levels. This event

are 22 options to choose from, such as an additional piece, duet, sight reading,
improvisation, scales, chords, arpeggios, theory, terms&signs, history, ear training,
art projects, and dance, etc. Students who chose 5 or more options (one of them must
be a written test), and performed at a proficient level in all, with a score of 80%
or higher in written test, receive Super-Achiever medals! The wide selection of
activities gives students an opportunity to set their own goals, display their
effort and music related talents. The state-wide guidelines are used in this inspiring

SCHOLARSHIPS
BAMTA is committed to helping children of all economic levels develop their musical gifts. We are pleased to award
annual scholarships to deserving music students, to help pay for music lessons. The scholarships are awarded on the
basis of financial need and playing ability. Applications are due June 1 and include an application form, recording
of the student's performance, parental financial report, and teacher's letter of recommendation. This information is
then evaluated by the scholarship committee. Identities of teachers and students are not known to the committee members.
The scholarship money is distributed in time to be applied to the fall tuition of their music teacher.

BAMTA GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR AWARD
In 2006, BAMTA instituted a special recognition to acknowledge an outstanding graduating high school senior at the
recipient's high school. The award consists of a plaque or framed certificate and a special gift (approximately $100)
appropriate to that student's interest. BAMTA members submit a letter of recommendation for their graduating student(s)
who have contributed to the enrichment of the musical community through participation in BAMTA activities, community theater,
high school band ensembles, accompanying, as a church musician or other musical venues. We will be in contact with the
recipient's high school music teacher to make arrangements to honor this student in the appropriate awards ceremony at
their high school.
