Teacher Performance Group

The Teacher Performance Group is open to all BAMTA members. Teachers meet informally on the third Wednesday of each month to play all kinds of music for each other. New members are especially welcome. For the 07-08 season contact Lisa Harrington, lisa_harrington@yahoo.com

Monthly Membership Meetings

Monthly meetings begin in September and are held on the first Wednesday of each month through May. Each meeting consists of a program and a general business meeting. Meetings are held at the Harvest Baptist Church, 7493 Old Mill Trail, Boulder (in "Gunbarrel" just north of Jay Road, off 75th Street).

All programs are from 10-11 a.m. on the First Wednesday morning of each month. (except for December and January and March)

September 6--Teachers in Jeopardy: Liane Rockley
Liane Rockley will lead us in a fun, interactive game that will help us problem-solve and brainstorm about common teaching dilemmas: Oh, those parents, Whats Wrong with These Kids (ADD, soccer, lack of practice, etc.) The IRS and You (Tax related questions) You and Your Business (studio procedures, setting up policy, advertising for students, etc.) Teacher's Hotline (questions on repertoire for a specific scenario)
October 4--_Dalcroze Eurythmics"
Led by C.U. Ph candidate Jeremy Dittus, this will be an opportunity to learn about this unique method of teaching rhythm, movement and musicality developed in the early 20th century by visionary teacher and musician Jacques Dalcroze. This is a widely known system of music and movement education and Jeremy will be demonstrating this work in an informative workshop.

November 1-Multiple Piano Festival Plans

December 16-Saturday
Christmas tea or brunch. This is a chance for all of you who are not able to attend Wednesday morning meetings to get together with those Wednesday regulars and have fun and do a little "networking" too. Norma Schattke is the contact person.

February 7--Teachers in Jeopardy--Part 2: Liane Rockley
A continuation and refinement of Liane Rockley's playshop, designed to get us answering and asking the tough questions about teaching, in a fun, supportive, playful environment.

March 2, 3, 4--Neighborhood Coffees with other BAMTA members from your area.
We BAMTA teachers are spread out in many different communities. Here is a chance to meet those closer to your home, find out who needs students, who has too many, and get to know each other better. We will have coffees in Longmont, Lafayette/Louisville, North Boulder, South Boulder and Gunbarrel. Watch the newsletter for details.

April 4--Achievement Day Plans

Achievement Day will go back to the format of a couple of years ago. It will be May 12 at CU but will not involve the Music Fair activities that we have had in the past 2 years.

May 2--Multiple Piano Festival Repertoire
The repertoire for the Fall 2007 MPF will be previewed. This is always a very popular program and should help to get you inspired and ready to start your students on their new music over the summer.
